Terms of use
Draft for review. Highlighted text is still to be filled in by the founder.
These terms are short on purpose. By using Offlead you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
What Offlead is
Offlead is a free app and website, provided by Jack Trute, trading as ProperApps, that suggests dog-walk loops, guides you round them and records your walk. It has no accounts.
Walk safely
- Routes are suggestions made from map data. They can be wrong, closed, flooded, unlit or on private land. Look at where you are, and follow signs and the law.
- "Off-lead likely" is an estimate from park size and walkers' reports. It is not permission. Check local signs and bylaws, keep control of your dog, and use a lead wherever a lead is required or your dog is not reliable.
- Do not use your phone while crossing roads or in traffic.
- You are responsible for your own safety and your dog's.
Using the service fairly
- Do not try to break, overload or scrape the service, or to get round its limits.
- Report an off-lead answer only for a place you have visited, and only truthfully.
- The open-source map data we use belongs to its owners; the credits are in the app's map information.
What is yours
Your walks, photos and share images are yours and stay on your device. When you share an image, you decide where it goes. We do not claim any rights over it. The Offlead name, design and Teemo artwork belong to us.
Our responsibility
The service is provided as it is, free, and may change or stop. We take care over it but cannot promise it is always available or that routes are accurate. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for loss from relying on a route or an off-lead estimate. [OWNER: legal review of this paragraph]
Changes and the law
We may update these terms, and the date above shows when. Continuing to use Offlead means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, though if you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK you keep the rights you have under your local law.
